Billy Payne’s recording of “This Time” has reached No. 1 on the CashBox Independent Country Chart for June 2026. This marks the second time the song has earned the No. 1 spot this year, after also reaching No. 1 in March 2026.

“This Time” carries a special place in country music history. Written by Waylon Jennings, the song became Jennings’ first No. 1 country hit in 1974. Now, Billy Payne’s version is continuing that legacy with another major independent country chart milestone.

Congratulations to Billy Payne on taking “This Time” back to No. 1.
